They didn't want Black people to register, but it's hard to stop them from registering. So they said you had to have a photo ID card to vote, and have to pick up the federal registration forms at the DMV. So they simply closed almost all the DMV offices in 10 counties. Just got rid of them. You couldn't get your license to vote, couldn't get your license to drive, and then you couldn't get your registration form.
Investigative journalist Greg Palast reports on the obstacle course millions of Americans faced trying to vote in the 2016 primaries - from the difficulty securing valid ballots for minorities post 2013 Voting Rights Act repeal, to the ways votes are challenged and discarded after being cast - and explains why voter suppression is not a partisan issue, but a class war assault.
