Live from Brazil, a rationalist's guide to the Zika virus.

Feb 13 2016
A connection has been firmly established between women getting Zika in the first trimester and babies being born with microcephaly. As far as whether it can be transmitted from saliva or semen, from what I understand it doesn't seem like that has been firmly established, so it's just a warning. And you know how everyone loves to warn people not to kiss or have sex because it slows down capitalist production.

Live from São Paulo, Brian Mier reports on the multiple dimensions of the Zika virus - as a challenge to Brazil's public health system, a test for abortion restrictions in the country, a readymade apocalyptic narrative for the Western media, and the start of a new breed of GMO mosquitoes.

Brian just returned from Recife where he covered the story with a major European TV network we can't name yet. NDA!
