Claire Provost

Claire is a senior investigative journalist, editor and author with particular experience in cross-border, follow the money and feminist investigations. She previously worked as a data journalist at The Guardian; was a fellow at the Centre for Investigative Journalism at Goldsmiths, University of London; and was Head of Global Investigations at the independent media outlet openDemocracy (where she built a global team and fellowship programme dedicated to tracking the backlash against women’s and LGBT rights).

Her writing has also appeared in Al Jazeera, CNN, Foreign Policy, The Independent, Mother Jones, The New York Review of Books, The Observer, and Vice Italy among other outlets. She also is a guest lecturer in the MA in Investigative Reporting programme at Birkeck, University of London, and she additionally works as a research and editorial consultant for various organisations. Her first book, Silent Coup: How Corporations Overthrew Democracy was be published in 2023 with Bloomsbury Academic.
