A throne for the Garbage King: Trump comes home.

937jeffdorchen

In arrogating himself to the Presidency, Trump reveals both his own unworthiness of public courtesy, let alone respect, as well as the depths to which our ship of state has sunk. The masks are off of both worlds. We made our democracy into a home for a garbage king, and lo and behold a garbage king has come to sit on the throne we've fashioned for him. And this contest winner, winner of the garbage king contest, has made of our democracy a shit palace, a fit court for such a throne.

In a Moment of Truth, Jeff Dorchen strains the communicative potential of language while reaching for ways to describe the schlubby, tacky nightmare of the Trump presidency, before settling on the visceral - literally, the gross innards, the foulest shit - the stuff hidden deep (and not so deep) inside America all along.
