Copaganda operations offer slightly different kinds of propaganda to different groups. That is something that I try to talk about a lot in the book, which is really focused on the very particular kinds of propaganda targeted at ordinary, well-meaning liberal and progressive people in our society to get them to support regressive, repressive right-wing mythologies and policies when they otherwise would support a much more equal and beautiful world.

Alec Karakatsanis returns to talk about his new book, Copaganda: How Police and the Media Manipulate Our News. Alec founded the Civil Rights Corps, an organization that challenges systemic injustices in the U.S. legal system. "The Moment of Truth" with Jeff Dorchen follows the interview.
