Although, ostensibly, you're supposed to produce original research and there's nothing better than you know, a breakthrough the challenges, you know, all the received wisdom in a field. Actually, people don't like that. People feel very threatened by that. People are invested in the status quo way of thinking. Because that's what their work is about. And if you discredit that then their work has been discredited. And therefore, their social position is going to be discredited.
