On the 25th of July, 2024, American medics who had volunteered in Israel, beg your pardon, in Gaza, wrote a letter to Joe Biden and Kamala Harris and said, ‘This is a genocide. This is what's happening. Here we are. We're Americans, right? We're telling you, this is what's happening and they are targeting our medical colleagues. Not only are they disabling the medical infrastructure, they are deliberately setting out to kill our colleagues. Please do something about this.’ It was ignored. And then worst of all, they're targeting kids. And I quote in the book a testimony by an American doctor to the United Nations, which I'm not gonna even extemporize here because it's so shocking. But part of his appeal at the end was whatever about what he had seen in terms of the number of kids who have been killed and the manner in which they had been killed. And by the way, that figure is at 25,000 now. But he also said, and it's been supported by other agencies on the ground there, he also said he had met children of no more than five who were suicidal. And he asked the question of the United Nations, he said, ‘How many of you have met a child of five years of age who doesn't want to live anymore?’ And he said, ‘The surprise to me, having volunteered twice in Gaza in the last two years, the surprise to me is that any Gazan child, even of five, would not want to live anymore.’
