There's a history of these substances being immersed in social relations in indigenous communities and in different cultural traditions around the world. You know, Trump has one vision of Ibogaine but, I'm from West Africa and there's a completely different relationship and history of that drug over there. And one of the things that I learned on the travels that really stayed with me was indigenous communities in Australia. Australia's the first country to, as a nation-state, to essentially legalize psychedelic-informed therapy. And they said, ‘That's great, but trying to shepherd psychedelics into this kind of individualized Western form of therapy is a myopia. You know, you can't heal alone. This is a social practice and a social drug. The consumption of it happens collectively.’ And so I think that there's also lessons to learn from those communities as well.
