Heat, A History / On Barak

External units of air conditioners in singapore

We are the meteorite. The problem is the problem is terrestrial. The problem can be sensed on our very body, and we have developed various kinds of discursive mechanisms and also various kinds of technological mechanisms, like air conditioning, to ward off these realizations, to push them away from us. And thereby to depoliticize the problem.

Returning to This is Hell!, On Barak, author of, Heat, a History Lessons from the Middle East for a Warming Planet. On is a social and cultural historian of science and technology and Professor of Middle Eastern and African History at Tel Aviv University.

After the interview, we hear a new "Rotten History" by Renaldo Migaldi.
