What was shocking for us and hard to believe for us is systematic and routine torture has become throughout the Israel prison system. We interviewed 55 detainees Gaza, West Bank, East Jerusalem, and even Palestinian Israeli citizens held in 16 prison facilities…The details in the testimonies were pretty much identical… It's routine and systematic and inspired by the Israeli government. That's the new reality on the Israel prison system of Palestinians.
Shai Parnes, Spokesperson for B'Tselem, The Israeli Information Center for Human Rights in the Occupied Territories, on their new report, "Welcome to Hell," a report on the abuse and inhuman treatment of Palestinians held in Israeli custody since October 7th 2023. B’Tselem collected testimonies from 55 Palestinians held during that time and released, almost all with no charges. "The Moment of Truth" with Jeff Dorchen follows the interview.
