US Pressured Pakistan to Remove Imran Khan / Murtaza Hussain

A meeting took place between State Department officials and their Pakistani counterparts in which they effectively threatened Pakistan and said that if you do not remove Imran Khan…our relationship is going to be deeply impacted. If he is removed from power our relations are going to improve. The State Department official, Donald Lue, uses the phrase, ‘all will be forgiven if he's removed from power’…You effectively tell Pakistani leaders, ‘nice country got there, shame if something happened to it.’
