A few years ago I was giving a talk and somebody after the talk was saying 'You know, honestly, I have to be a socialist, that's the only retirement program I can imagine. Because I'll never be able to earn enough to live if we don't have socialism.'...I think more and more people are recognizing that the only way we can have a future, globally and in the United States, is if we get rid of rapacious, exploitative capitalism and actually build together a system that will protect people and the planet, that will let people and the planet flourish.
